Existing link to "sla-zone.co.uk" is a thinly-veiled link to a commercial product site. Think this is borderline violation of wikipedia editing guidelines. I found the information in "sla-zone.co.uk" to be useful, but definitely also a link to a commercial site. I had added a similar site (http://www.nkarten.com/sla.html) which I think contains both more information on SLAs but also seems slightly more commercial. How do we get the valuable information but not the commercial content. - Firstly, the Karten link was an External Link, not a reference. It was simply added after the event, next to the existing reference. That is why I changed it thus. I am guessing that the guy who deleted it did so because it didn't just have a link to a commercial site on board, but the site itself was actually framed to sell consultancy. I got that impression too, but let it go. Perhaps I was wrong. One other point: if you are Naomi, as is possible, you shouldn't be adding links to your own site. 74.63.84.101 (talk) 18:32, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info on External vs reference. No I'm not Naomi, just looking for info on SLAs. I have found (mostly commercial) sites with useful info. Given the minimal info at the .uk site (and its commercial bent) I don't think the reference to it need be there, but don't know how this compares to other Wikipedia articles.
- One mostly non-commercial possibility (though they show ads as you go from page to page) is http://www.cio.com/article/101500/SLAs_A_CIO_s_Guide_to_Success
- Regarding the Web service level agreement (WISLA) page - I think it should be included as a specific example under this more general page. The IBM links were good.(209.146.157.98 (talk) 20:00, 24 June 2008 (UTC))
- The existing reference is fine. The article was originally built from it. Your CIO link suggestion though is not. It is an opinionated peice, like many others, and I had to battle through a pop-up ad to get through to it! 78.110.168.138 (talk) 21:50, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
