Galagedara

Hi Chanakal;
As you can see in this page, there are more than six, only in the NW Province there are six. About misspelling, you also wrote it wrong in my page :). Regards; Caiaffa (talk) 15:58, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Are you able to correct this confusion with Galagedara articles? Witch one(s) is the correct? And the other articles in different regions (there are some "villages" and one "electorate")? Can you provide fonts? Thanks; Caiaffa (talk) 16:59, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
As per Google maps and my Atlas (real book), the coordinates are about 7'20N and 80'32L, so the correct one is the one you told Galagedara, Central Province. Please contact Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests, they will help you deleting the unnecessary pages keeping only Galagedara, Central Province renaming to Galagedara or Galagedara (village) or Galagedara (Sri Lanka) (i can't say which one is better). If you post the request, let me know so i can support your demand. Regards, Caiaffa (talk) 20:21, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Investigating this matter, I found [1] and [2]. In fact, the city you mentioned is the most notable meanwhile all cities are encyclopedic. It confused myself a lot. Do you no something about? Caiaffa (talk) 13:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
As you told, we have one obviously more notable, other 7 small villages and one electorate. The electorate appears to be something political and non encyclopedic thing (today is the main article!?). I think that the best thing to do is to link "Galagedara" to the main city, keep the link to the disambiguation page, keep the other seven as villages and delete the electorate. Nomination of Category:Sri Lankan terrorists for Deletion

A user has nominated Category:Sri Lankan terrorists (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Nitraven (talk) 14:50, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your interest and research, it seems that the Category:Sri Lankan terrorists has survived deletion. And yes the cats Category:Fugitives wanted by Sri Lanka and Category:Fugitives wanted on terrorism charges has be used for articles as per Interpol. However adding articles to Category:Sri Lankan terrorists is difficult since some people are contesting it bitterly. So we must find reliable sources to prove that specific articles should be put to this cat. Keep up the good work. Nitraven (talk) 14:42, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi - a stub type that you made has been speedily deleted, per precedent of similar types. Geography stubs are not divided by type of geographic feature, only by location. In future, if you wish to create a new stub template, please do so in the standard way by first proposing it at WP:WSS/P, as explained at WP:STUB. Thank you, Grutness...wha? 03:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

The best thing to do is to mark the articles with {{SriLanka-geo-stub}}, then create a talk page for the article (by clicking the redlink at the top marked "discussion") and put {{Project Waterfalls}} on it. The stub template will let editors interested in articles about Sri Lankan geography know about the articles, and the template on the talk page will let members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Waterfalls know about the articles. Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 03:33, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Kanye West, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Daniil Maslyuk (talk) 14:49, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Sri Lanka

Hi, Chanakal! There's still no comments from anyone else on the discussion about this Wikiproject. Looks like it's worse than I thought. I'll start checking the members' contributions. If they have edited recently (maybe within the past month), I'll send them a message and ask them if they are still interested in the project. We might be able to get together at least a few people and get the Wikiproject running again. Do you think you could help with this? If you would like to help, use this message I've prepared, by adding {{subst:User:Chamal N/SL}} to the members' talk pages. I have sent messages up to number 25. Cheers. Revival of Wikiproject Sri Lanka

Hi, Chanakal! Since you have volunteered to revive Wikiproject Sri Lanka and get it functioning again, your comments, ideas and suggestions will be welcome at the ongoing discussion at the project talk page. Cheers. -- Chamal Talk ± 13:55, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Template:User Nu Metal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Suntag 09:30, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Help with portal

Hi Chanakal - I only had a little bit to do with the setting up of the NZ portal, and I doubt I'd really be much help to you with it - someone like User:Gadfium would probably be able to give you far more advice than I could. Grutness...wha? 22:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Editing Portal:Current events/Sri Lanka/box-header, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Editing Portal:Current events/Sri Lanka/box-header is a test page.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Editing Portal:Current events/Sri Lanka/box-header, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 10:10, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

this is actually misfired warning --chanakal (talk) 12:00, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
