General clean-up[edit]

Hi folks. This article needs a general clean-up to address numerous issues, specifically:

- use of inline links to external sites, as opposed to inline citations

- lack of inline citations to support statements

- issues with grammar

- list of external links with an unclear purpose, or that navigate to an already referenced source

Many of the sources are not in English, so I am not well-equipped to assess their suitability and relevance. If someone could please assist with these issues, or apply appropriate templates to raise these issues to the broader community, that would be greatly appreciated!
