¿Bossa-nova and latin rhythms?[edit]

In fact, bossa nova is a latin rhytm...

There are several differences between the two, but I can't recall them off of the top of my head.

La fourcade does not mean forking in french[edit]

I didn't think the word even existed, but it's apparently the name used in one french town for a way to fish oysters , according to a dictionary dating from the 19th century: http://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/fourcade —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.167.111.226 (talk) 14:41, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Natalia Lafourcade Debut.jpg[edit]

Image:Natalia Lafourcade Debut.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Aside from the legal doctrine of "fair use", there is also, inherently in copyright the question of damages. Does the use of this image promote or demote Ms. L's public image. That is, is the use of her photograph diluting her ability to make monetary gain? I think not. Wikipedia is correct to carefully control what goes on the page, but they are soooooo legally overzealous that they cannot see the picture correctly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Preston (talkcontribs) 00:45, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Related deletion discussion[edit]

Natalia lafourcade y la forquetina (band)[edit]

the name of the band used to be Natalia lafourcade y la forquetina since her second album, but natalia was never known as forquetina, as you can read in the spanish section http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natalia_Lafourcade la forquetina was the name of the musicians behind her, who left the band after the album "casa" Now Natalia lafourcade's band's name is Natalia Lafourcade.

its very important to remove the "Also known as forquetina", thats not true at all, thats the name of the musicians. She introduced the name of the musicians in her second album so the people knew they were there right behind her, and that she wasnt doing everything by herself —Preceding unsigned comment added by Busbuzz (talkcontribs) 08:57, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

___

Exactly: the intro states that her band is (still) called "Natalia y La Forquetina" ("Natalia Lafourcade (...) is a Mexican pop-rock singer and songwriter. Her band's name is Natalia y La Forquetina."), I wanted to change that but I couldn't. The "Forquetina" musicians haven't been working with her for a while, so now it's just "Natalia Lafourcade". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.80.234.97 (talk) 08:25, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lafourcade means "the forking" ? NO[edit]

Her last name is French and means "the forking" (of road).

No. Fourcade is a way gathering oysters using a pitchfork. Source : http://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/fourcade La fourche would have mean The Forking (of road). --Stephanefr (talk) 08:48, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Place of Birth for Natalia[edit]

The english version says Natalia was born in Mexico City, while the Spanish Wikipedia version refers to the city of Coatepec in the Mexican State of Veracruz as her place of birth. Which one is right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.231.129.206 (talk) 05:13, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lafourcade's debut[edit]

Hello! The article said that Lafourcade debuted with her self-titled album in 2003, but it was actually released in 2002. I'm going to be adding links in the References section that show she debuted in 2002. Let me know if there's anything wrong here! Thank you. Kim.v.99 (talk) 09:53, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
