Some thing to do The Beethoven and rape controversy this combined whit Dagas expression:

  • Art is vice. You don't marry it legitimately, you rape it.
  • Variant: Art isn't something you marry. It's something you rape

Emile Zola was a member of The Salon (French: Salon de Paris). A fictional laundress in Emile Zola's novel L'Assommoir in Englisch "The Dram Shop" describes with precision the non-fictional world within a world of impoverished Parisians of that time: "But mixed up with the lofty brand-new buildings there were still plenty of rickety old houses; between facades of carved masonry yawned black holes, gaping kennels exposing their wretched windows. Coming up through the rising tide of luxury the destitution of the slums thrust itself into view."1 --Grim Reaper2 10:13, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wording[edit]

"The youngest sister of Marie and Antoinette, Louise Josephine, as she is called by Richard Kendall, or Charlotte, as she is called by Carolyn Meyer — author of the YA novel Marie, Dancing, which focuses on Marie's adolescence — is known to have worked for the Paris Opera ballet as a teacher. She even suggested that she has thought Yvette Chauviré. This is according to Martine Kahane."

I assume thought means taught - but what is YA ? And when it says "She even suggested", who is she ? - Carolyn Meyer, the sister (whatever her name was), or someone else ? -- Beardo 19:41, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Grim Reaper2, yes it means taught, to learn people, students stuff. I don't know what YA means. Further more there is a big problem whit the sources on Marie van Goethem, the biggest source is Martine Kahane. She worked as conservator with the paris opera. They have made a opera about the live of marie, and made money with it. So did Carolyn Meyer with her book, as well did the family of Degas as well Degas him self, by selling the art. The original statue of wax is the most expensive statue sold. This fact alone means something. My conclusion is that everyone did and is making money, and was or is well known, and had or has status, accept Marie. She has the most expensive and most well known statue in the world made after her, based up on her live. Degas his work is out of fashion. I think it has got something to do with sex. Especially sex with young adolescent girls. We would call this, in this age of time, pedophilia. So I think it is important to tell the live story of Marie on a none commercial base. I'm sorry for my bad English, I'm dutchNL77 11:28, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
