US-Centric and POV issues

...riddle the article. For example, the section on nutrition which mentions that KFC changed to trans-fat free oil sounded as though this was a global change, but in fact applied only to the U.S. The article frequently uses U.S. information as a default, with occasional references to "international" operations. In fact, the U.S. accounts for less than 30 per cent of KFC operations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newzild (talkcontribs) 01:53, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Buckethead: The Guitarist

I'm not sure if this belongs...but it's worth mentioning here. The guitarist, Buckethead, used to wear a KFC bucket on his head. He also wears a mask while playing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.70.53.129 (talk) 19:40, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

There may be enough information out there to create a "Cultural influcence" section or the like which could include this info. It would just need to be sourced. RevelationDirect (talk) 03:26, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Cambodia

There are a few KFC outlets in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, with some coming to Sihanoukville. Cambodia needs to be added to the map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peebidj (talkcontribs) 05:45, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

The Sheffield, Cambodia location I assume? RevelationDirect (talk) 03:32, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
I tried adding a map with Cambodia added, but the image is on Commons (not wikipedia), so I had to create a new account there. It would not let me upload the new image because the account was too new. But, yes Cambodia needs to be added to the map. --Peebidj (talk) 06:25, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Shall we split ?

Shall we split an article of international operations into a new article called List of countries with KFC franchises? - MrFawwaz (talk) 12:00, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Good idea! Wierse (talk) 08:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
GO ahead, but start sourcing it now or it will end up being folded back into the main article. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 08:56, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

system analysis

what are the vision and scope of the kfc customer current system, sort discription of the existing system, deliverable, ganttchart of the kfc customer current system. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.199.73.146 (talk) 05:44, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Years

Can we maybe drop the countries in which year KFC had come? Wierse (talk) 11:42, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Popularity in Japan

There probably should be a mention of how popular KFC is in Japan, including the iconic statues of Col Sanders at each location. CFLeon (talk) 21:03, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Opening in Kenya

KFC is opening in Kenya in August 2011. Please adjust the map to reflect this. Thanks. Fsmatovu (talk) 23:19, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Yerevan currently has 3 locations, but the map hasn't been updated.

KFC Recipe

Author Todd Wilbur was the first to attempt to duplicate the recipe for KFC Original Chicken in his book "Top Secret Recipes" in 1993. In his new TV show on CMT "Top Secret Recipe", Wilbur works with KFC executives to further disect the recipe. Topsecretrecipe (talk) 15:36, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Avicennasis @ 20:09, 10 Tishrei 5772 / 20:09, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Can't edit, due to semi-protection. I just wanted to point out the article currently states Ron Douglas claims to have "cracked" the secret recipe in his book, but the source given explicitly states that Douglas only claims to have come close in taste. It should probably be removed, as stating that somebody has come close in taste to it is not really interesting or relevant. Other people have done that. The point is whether or not he is saying he has the "secret recipe". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.209.152 (talk) 06:12, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

Kentucky Fried Chicken actually had two branches in Kenya in the 1970s and these were located in Nairobi (one at Westlands and the other near the post office). They closed down in the 1980s. You should edit the article to reflect that 173.252.71.3 (talk) 18:08, 13 March 2012 (UTC) Ajay Shah

E Africa

This article incorrectly states that the KFC in Nairobi, Kenya is the first US-based fast food restaurant in E Africa (the USA Today headline in the source is misleading). It may be the first in Kenya, but Subway has been in neighboring Tanzania for a number of years. Ithuvanian (talk) 06:52, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Done Unless someone else discovers a pre-existing Carl's Jr. hiding in Nairobi. Dl2000 (talk) 02:54, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Mash and gravy

The article lists those as going together, however this may be the case only in the US. Here in the UK, you only get gravy without mash. In fact, they do not serve mash at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.222.10.100 (talk) 18:18, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

KFC in Nepal

There are two KFC stores in Nepal. One opened on November 2009 and another recently on October 2011. Please update your map of countries with KFC accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Callmeros (talkcontribs) 13:20, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Popularity among black people

I am highly doubtful if that line belongs in the article at all, and if it does, certainly not in the lead section. Abeg92contribs 04:37, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Actually, reading the provided citation, I think it certainly doesn't belong in the article at all. The source fails to discuss anything about the stereotype dealing with KFC specfically, and the broader racist fried chicken stereotype is given a treatment in that article of ours. Abeg92contribs 04:42, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Dont be racist bro. Kfcdesuland (talk) 04:44, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Comment on the content, not the contributor. The wider subject is covered in Fried_chicken#Racial_stereotype, the only KFC relevance in the source you provided is that KFC's Chinese subsidiary pulled one advert after complaints of racism. There's nothing about KFC being a specific part of the fried chicken stereotype. --McGeddon (talk) 08:35, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

"Fried chicken was eaten by black slaves[citation needed] because it was cheap and easy to make" is in fact in the article and needs to be removed. I would change it myself, but I can't. This problem is is that this not only not cited, it is simply wrong. Black slaves, in fact any slaves back from 1700-1865 would never have chicken. Until modern times chicken was very expensive. It would be like saying "slaves commonly ate filet mignon because it was cheap and easy to cook." It makes Wikipedia look bad when this stays up for so long, and after people have pointed it out to you! You need to delete this. It has no citation. The reverse it is actually true. It promotes racism, bigotry, and bad and false stereotypes. I don't know why those with power in Wikipedia would insist on promoting this.

It's one thing to make this mistake honestly. It's another when you know that you're wrong about something racist but but still refuse to change it.

Seriously, get this changed. I'll be back and I won't back down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martyfix (talkcontribs) 12:30, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Nobody's insisting on promoting anything here, I assume this was just overlooked. I've edited the sentence to match the source, which, indeed, mentions neither "slaves" nor fried chicken being "cheap and easy to make". --McGeddon (talk) 12:56, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Looks good. Thank you for making the change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martyfix (talkcontribs) 22:00, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

KFC Croatia

It is more of a update rather than an edit. Under "International operations", could you please update the "Countries with KFC restaurants" picture by coloring Croatia blue, since a KFC restaurant opened in Zagreb a week ago. Here are some articles both in English and Croatian to prove the concept which can also, in return, be used as references to the same.
