Makimono is same thing. Divide into sections for each country? --178.231.38.114 (talk) 04:29, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What about Emakimono - this also seems the same, and is longer. I'd rather merge Makimono there. Johnbod (talk) 15:28, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would agree but I don't think they are the same thing. makimono seems to be about scrolls in general, emakimono is about picture scrolls, the art medium. Afaict "makimono" is just roughly equivalent to "scroll" in English. As for in English, I don't know if "makimono" and "emakimono" mean the same thing. The makimono article is unsourced.. I don't know if this is a one-off mistake or a regular source of confusion. —Moogsi (talk) 21:32, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest making a disambiguate page for makimono (and direct it to sushi, scroll, handscroll, and emakimono). Then, this article should be revamped for a general non country-specific scope, I guess. Emakimono would treated as a sub-article of a general handscroll article. Is that an idea? --Cold Season (talk) 01:52, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
