additions needed[edit]

This article needs to be considerably expanded by someone familiar with Wolverton's career. For example, I was unable to find on the internet any solid reference to his working at Fleischer Studio, but several minor characters in early Fleischer cartoons like Minnie the Moocher are highly suggestive of his idiosyncratic style. Also. It's always good to expand a notable artist's career with whatever relevant, verifiable facts we can find, so I agree with you there. The Fleischer thing sounds like supposition on your part, but, certainly, there's no dearth of information on the Fleischer studio, so perhaps there's documentation if Wolverton ever worked there. Regarding his influence on underground comix, if that's indeed so, some artist might have said this in an interview. Take a look at page one, panel one of this 1973 Marvel Comics reprint of Wolverton's 1951 story "Where Monsters Dwell"... http://thehorrorsofitall.blogspot.com/2007/10/where-monsters-dwell.html ...and you'll see a caption added to the lower left corner of that panel, citing his influence upon the underground comix movement in the U.S., and you can add said info to his Wikipedia bio. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.190.146.35 (talk) 23:14, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

An anonymous Marvel editor giving a personal opinion without any specifics — and there was a wide spectrum of underground cartoonists, so who and which did he influence exactly? — is not the same as a recognized comics historian or other authority making a supported statement. --Tenebrae (talk) 03:39, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
