Plans to Expand[edit]

I am planning on expanding this Wikipedia page to include more information on this Bernini scultpure. There is room for a description of the sculpture (visual description, how it was made, what it was made with, the context in which it was made) as well as a discussion about its meaning. Outline: Note: Multiple illustrative images of the sculpture from different angles are already present so I am not planning on adding more images. If I find during the course of the writing that more images are necessary, I will add those images at that time.

Background: This section will look at the sequence of events in Bernini’s life that led up to and influenced the creation of this sculpture. This section will also discuss the materials used for the sculpture and why those materials were chosen.

Description: This section will consist solely of a visual description of the statue. The description will include a discussion of both the imagery and dimensions pertaining to the sculpture.

Meaning: This section will explore the possible intended meaning behind the sculpture (what it is symbolic of?).

Influence: This section will examine the impact of this work on Bernini’s burgeoning career and how this sculpture influenced some of his later works.
