Turnout[edit]

people are changing turnout number a lot and they are citing subpar sources even when good sources are available. DataCrusade1999 (talk) 11:03, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I updated voter turnout using a report published by the newspaper The Hindu, which was reverted by @Dhruv edits labelling my reference as outdated. However, the reference they are citing was published on 20th April 2024, while my citation was published on 22nd April 2024. Indian Express also provides the same figure of 62% voter turnout. @ParanormalRat The reference you have added only provides turnout declared till 9 pm on election day. Another Indian Express article has reported 66.1% turnout, which will also increase until ECI officially declare the final turnout after considering postal ballots as well. India Today reported 65.5%. Since different sources are reporting different turnouts (and all of these will keep increasing until all EVM and postal votes are considered), the source with the highest turnout should be added to the article. Yes, but the election finished before 9 PM, so the figures at 9PM are final. Since these sources do not agree with each other, I think we should remove the voter turnout figure for now and add it later when ECI publishes it. ParanormalRat (talk) 11:10, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ParanormalRat Please read the refs completely. Voting in many stations went till late night where people had already reached the stations before 5/6 PM. Also the figure reported by ECI at 9 PM doesn't include all votes cast till 9 PM. Figures shared by ECI is based on approximate trends. The actual turnout is published 2-3 months after the election. Until then, highest turnout reported by reliable sources is added to the article. Similar process has been done on other Indian election articles. @Dhruv edits I don't see any reference saying that the voting continued afer 9PM. Also, I am not sure if Amar Ujala counts as a reliable reference. As far as I understand, The Hindu and Indian Express are much better sources. I would like to ask other members for opinion on the matter. In my opinion, let's remove the turnout percentage from the page for now until we resolve this or the Election Commission produces the data. ParanormalRat (talk) 11:57, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This article was written on 25th April, which is 5 days after the voting for First phase had ended. I request either of you to change the turnout figure of Phase I from 65.5% to 66.1% if you find my suggestion valid.

can we use up or down arrow to show if the turnout is higher or lower than 2019 elections?? I think it would be useful. I'm also aware that we can't go beyond 2019 because not all general election in India have 7 Phases. DataCrusade1999 (talk) 08:55, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ram Mandir[edit]

Calling for a rename of the section because some people believe that Modi's allegations of infiltrators in April and subsequent legal actions, plus the fact that the BJP had to explicitly address separate allegations of incitement against other communities (in an reference mentioning Kerala) are still part of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony. Incorrect naming of person[edit]

Hi, not an editior, did not read guidelines. Noticed that the election issues portion mentions Mr. Revanth Reddy (Chief Minister of Telangana) being arrested, while in fact Mr. Arun Reddy (as noted in the reference provided) who was arrested.
