I suggest you add that page to your watch list

User page suggestions[edit]

  • Though you might feel that full disclosure is good, I would nonetheless recommend that you remove your real name while retaining information about your association to the organization you are a part of. This is a safety matter, in my opinion, not a matter of hiding your identity for its own sake. If people want to know who you are, they can e-mail you ... which leads to bullet 2...
  • I would also recommend that you remove your email address from the text of your user page and rather use the "email this user" functionality ... put your email in your profile ... which will allow people to contact you at your email address without exposing it for potential misuse.
  • If you have not already done so, I would recommend that you verify that you are in safe territory in your interaction with Wikipedia as regards your organization's guidelines. My own organization has recently specifically banned employees from writing anything related to my organization or its competitors on Wikipedia, no matter how minor such an edit might be. There are other restrictions that might be put in place (I am under additional restrictions than that noted here), and your knowledge of them is important to the maintenance of your employment status.
  • The three bullets above can all be summed up in the phrase "Be Wary - Be Safe".
