Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Quartzgoldbling, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Canada Christian College have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

• We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
• If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
• Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. "Bias"

Just to clarify on what you are alleging to be a "soft bias" - a phrase stating the CCC was not affiliated to OISE was in the paragraph previously - I just cleaned it up so that it wasn't parenthetical ie so it was a separate sentence making the paragraph easier to read. I suspect whoever initially put in the mention did so because OISE is considered left-wing and "radical" (and has been a target of criticism in recent years by Charles McVety) and an editor wanted to make it clear CCC had no relationship other than to rent space so that CCC wouldn't be tainted by association with OISE in a reader's mind. So if there's a "bias" behind the sentence's initial inclusion it wasn't an anti-CCC bias but an anti-OISE bias. I added the reference to McMaster because it seemed odd to mention there was no affiliation with OISE without saying the same of McMaster (and indeed, mentioning one but not the other might suggest there was an affiliation with McMaster. The non-affiliation is a logical inference - but there was no actual source for it - so I'm fine leaving it out. I just wanted to clear up your misapprehension of bias. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "handwaving" but your suggestion doesn't appear valid looking up the definition since nothing was being "glossed over".[1]
