Information icon Hello, I'm Joyous!. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Girona, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Joyous! Noise! 03:25, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts. For those of us who have been lucky enough to travel most of Western Europe. WE
understand that each town has folklore, and legends. That is part of the charm of travel. In this case the original lioness dates back to the 11th century. I found the legend documented in at least 15 travel.com sites, and two travel shows.
I had been to Girona twice now after kissing the lioness. People use this website not only for historical studies, but also for ideas on what to do when there. The addition of the Tarragona Museum which my wife and I visited is another choice how to spend your time in Spain. I am puzzled why reference to one museum is approved, and another seems to irritate others.
I live in Tampa, FL. I have NO, Zero, Nada, Zip,... vested interest in either of the references I made. My purpose if to let future travelers know of the charm and attractions of the Continent.
Best regards,

That interesting tourist attraction in Girona - it needs reliable sources, not ones from tourist guides[edit]

Hi Michael

Here you wrote "The additions I made to the Girona Spain Article concerned the legend of kissing the lion. Please feel free to look at the numerous sites which refer to this subject."

Let's look at them.

You used "https://life-globe.com/Sculpture" as a reference in this edit. That website at best appears to be someone's Instagram account.

There are also any number of mentions of this on websites like Tripadvisor pages about Girona. That website hosts the opinions of people just like you and me - anyone can write what they think about it and ain't no way we can use them as references.

Time Out does mention it here but I do note that neither the Girona article in Arragonese or Spanish mention that sculpture and its traditions.

Please do let me know if I can help you about this in particular, or in any way about the English language Wikipedia
