I am most annoyed that you state "Apparently you are not seeking a translation, but something else" -since that is exactly what I am seeking. Yes I understand that someone with knowledge of the game or at least computer games in general would be better placed to give the type of translation I seek. Can you see that 'prose translation' in this context is not really suitable.

Archimedes[edit]

Thanks for your comments on how Archimedes used numbers. I have tried to point out in the article that Archimedes lacked what we would call a modern number base system. The question of whether this would have made certain types of calculation more difficult is an interesting one. For example, his approximation of the square root of 3 as less than 1351/780 is a considerable feat for a person in ancient times. Alphanumeric systems have been described as cumbersome to work with, and it has also been argued that they limited the calculations that people would attempt. Archimedes seems to have realised this in The Sand Reckoner, since an alphanumeric system has difficulty with expressing very large numbers. The Greek and Roman numeral systems fell into disuse in the Middle Ages when Arabic numerals using a zero were popularised through the work of Leonardo Fibonacci. DRC kingdom importance[edit]

Hi. I get what ur saying and agree almost wholeheartedly. I think the problem with consistency at least between those two pages is that the Afro-Latin one isn't very specific. They say Congo as if its one country when there are two. I have numerous sources on the ethnic background of slaves. Most of which i've used on the TransAtlantic Slave trade page. Don't get me wrong, some slaves were brought from within the territory of what is today the DRC, but the kingdoms listed on the TAST page weren't big contributors. The majority of them were too far inland to supply a big amount of slaves. Only the Lunda kingdom was in regular contact and their ethnic group (BaLunda) were never that frequent on slave rosters. The BaKongo ethnic group was very prominent but the majority of them came from ANGOLA and still reside there. The kingdom of Kongo was so powerful and large though, that encompassed portions of both the DRC and the Republic of Congo (the latter contributed substantially in the TAST). Your course of action sounds good to me. I'd mention the DRC simply cuz we know that at least some slaves came from there, but a major emphasis needs to be placed on Angola. Especially when talking about Brazil. Or you could replace DRC with RoC (republic of Congo).
