Information icon Hello, I'm Killarnee. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Fisher Park High School—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. --Killarnee (T12) 21:36, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The "show preview" button is right next to the "publish changes" button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. --Killarnee (T12) 21:36, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, I am Jeff5001 and I believe I have been blocked unfairly and my content has been rolled back for no reason. For 15+ years I have been a researcher at Canada's National Research Council and I understand very well the importance of credible and factual sources. As such, I have been building the site Fisher Park High School using printed copies of year books and obituaries of staff etc. I have avoided opinion at all cost and have been trying to build up the history of the school using clear facts that cannot be disputed. I have put in significant effort to use reference material and cross referencing this with other sources and entering information on Wikipedia once the info has been verified. I strongly believe my edits were in good faith and provided valuable information for others. Additionally, many other high school sites have similar headings to what was removed. I have spent significant time ensuring all my references were listed using the correct format and from verifiable printed sources. I hope you will review this and agree with me. Thank you very much.

Decline reason:

If you are editing Wikipedia or performing research as part of your job duties, you need to declare as a paid editor. You used primary sources; Wikipedia is primarily interested in what independent reliable sources state about a subject, not what a subject says about itself(such as in a school yearbook). A list of teachers is not appropriate unless all those teachers merit Wikipedia articles(unlikely). I believe the block was correct, and I see no grounds to lift it, as such, I am declining your request. You may make another request, describing the edits you will make if unblocked, I suggest that you also review reliable sources beforehand. 331dot (talk) 08:27, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

Sorry, when I mentioned my role at NRC I was not suggesting I am a paid editor. I simply meant I understand the importance of proper research and proper citations. I am not being paid to edit here. Having said that, I guess I assumed that a list of all staff throughout the years would be useful to others but if this is not the case I am now re-requesting an unblock and I will simply use my editing rights in the future to correct or add useful items, as I have been doing for many years before this week. Respectfully, Jeff5001

Accept reason:

While the block was correct and required as a protective measure, its purpose has been fulfilled since the editor has now indicated an understanding of the policies that necessitated it. Chetsford (talk) 21:07, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
