Precise coordinates of your Namibian Kalahari photo

Hello Mr. Baumeler.

First of all, as a French, allow me to complete your presentation in French given that it is apparently one of the two official languages in Wallis - Valais :

"Habitant du Canton du Valais. Vole en avion privé au-dessus de la Namibie, de l'Afrique du Sud et du Botswana. Je contribue à Wikipedia via mes photos prises essentiellement en vue aérienne."

I just saw your photo, https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9b/KalahariBirdView.jpg/300px-KalahariBirdView.jpg, in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalahari_Desert article.

It just shows that the Kalahari is technically not a desert (aerial ground cover of vegetation lower than 10%) but mainly a slightly open vegetation formation (a slightly open savanna in this case) with only small areas of bare soil (sand dunes).

So I would like to know the exact coordinates (degrees, minutes, seconds) of the place you photographed, if it is possible of course.

Besides I can't see if the small dark green vegetation are bushes or scrubs or shrubs or even small trees.

Have you any idea (for instance how tall these bushes-trees are) ?

And eventually at which height did you take this photo from your plane ?

Thank you in advance for your answers.Carlo Colussi (talk) 12:51, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Carlo
Merci beaucoup pour la traduction de mon text sur mon user-page en Francais!
The Picture
Kalahari
was taken near 24°39′20″S 018°30′25″E / 24.65556°S 18.50694°E / -24.65556; 18.50694. The darker dots are de:Kameldornbäume. Their altidute is probably 4 to 6 meters. We were flying approximately 400 meters above gound. We call the Kalahari a Semi-Desert. Regards, Hanspeter --Hp.Baumeler (talk) 12:03, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Gobabis Health Centre requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Ways to improve Heioab

Hi, I'm Graeme Bartlett. Hp.Baumeler, thanks for creating Heioab!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Reliable sources should be used, rather than Wikipedia

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
