ampirism Causes AsthmaTo be fair, I'm not watching this show, my wife is, I'm not even really trying to pay attention, but it seems every time I look these vampires are all out of breath, no matter what they're doing. I theorize that vampirism causes acute ashtma symptoms probably due to aspirating blood. This leaves the common vampire constantly gasping for air in otherwise normal situations like walking, talking, or bits of expositionary dialog filmed through shaky cameras and extreme close ups. Certainly anytime blood is near their mouths. Perhaps it's an alergic reaction

Martin Van Buren developed pneumonia in the fall of 1861. ... In July, 1862, Van Buren had a serious asthma attack and began to weaken. Van Buren died on July 24, 1862, at his home in Kinderhook, New York, of heart failure. He was 79 years old.
