Waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night realising that I'd misspelt George Harrison's name in his obituary whilst working as a subeditor for a prominent London newspaper whose editor I was hoping to convince to reemploy me as a feature writer... This convinced me that journalism wasn't the profession for me. But ever since then the pedantic impulse to correct typos and randomly rewrite text seizes me at the most inconvenient moments. Now I'm just hoping that my college studies will allow me to shake the habit for good. But then in the meantime...
