Vegar Ottesen

Vegar Ottesen (born November 26, 1981) is head of department of HINN's department of biotechnology. Ottesen was one of seven inventors of Norway's Covid test in 2020, and co-founder and part owner of Lybe Scientific AS. The invention was awarded the Norwegian Research Council's innovation award in 2021.

Ottesen holds a PhD in Chemical engineering from NTNU, awarded in 2018 and a Sivilingeniør degree (M.Sc. equivalent) in bio-nanotechnology from the same university, awarded in 2014.
