Dimapur, is the major city of the Indian state of Nagaland.

Culture[edit]

  • Deizephe craft village - The crafts village is home to over 90 weavers and craftsmen. The craftsmen specialize in woodcarvings, bamboo and can works. The village is supported by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited. It is located 13 km from Dimapur.
  • North East Zone Cultural Center (NEZCC) - Established in 1986 to preserve, innovate and promote the projection and dissemination of arts of the North East region by the government. It is one of 7 such zones established across the country to promote culture the broad discipline of music, art and literature. The NEZCC has a museum, a gallery and a library among other cultural showcases.

Nature[edit]

  • Green Park - A park in the city located within the state Horticulture Nursery. The park also has boating facilities, lawns and a restaurant.
  • Triple falls - A three tiered water fall located in Seithekima Village. The waterfall has a height of around 280 ft.

Wildlife[edit]

  • Dimapur Zoological Park - is located 6 kms away from the city and is spread over a total area of 176 hectares. The Zoo was inaugurated in the year 2008.
  • Ranangapahar Reserve forest - The reserve forest is home to numerous species of animals and birds. The animals found here include the Tiger, Snakes, Porcupine, Deer and monkeys. The birds in the reserve forest include the Hornbill, Cuckoo, Sunbird, Quail, Parrot, Myna, Swift Hawk and others.
