History[edit]

A brief history of Holy Light Lutheran Church[edit]

HLLC started as a home fellowship in a link house at B14, Jalan Gempita 4, Salak South Garden (opposite 12 story flat) in 1967 by Rev. John Wong. Later, the church grew and shifted to the current location at No. K20, Jalan Cahaya 1, Salak South Garden which is a bungalow lot. The parish hall was dedicated on 15th December 1973 and it was also officially accepted as an organised congregation under Lutheran Church of Malaysia and Singapore (LCMS) the same year.

Rev. John Wong and Rev. Carl Fisher were then pastoring the Church. By the grace of God, after 13 years, HLLC managed to purchase the bungalow lot next door which is K19 and build the new Church building which was dedicated on the 29th November 1986.[2]
