This is a piece of note-taking software. Desktop competitors are mentioned, but the competitors most people see today are on mobile
Half of this article is talking about the benefits of note-taking software, not this specific piece of note-taking software called Xournal. I couldn't fix this problem because it would remove too much of the article
Funny enough I ran into this page today and noticed issues as well. I've continued your work fixing this article in a few ways:
I did go ahead and remove the "Use cases" section. The article may be a stub without it, but it really is off-topic.
There were several references to books and articles which seemed to speak just to note-taking software in general, so I removed them and replaced them with some articles actually talking about Xournal
One outstanding issue I see is that this article talks principally about Xournal, but I think these days Xournal++ is much more widely used. Maybe this article should be moved to Xournal++, then include some history about how it started with Xournal. Xournal's last release was in 2017, while Xournal++ remains under active development. Xournal++'s website includes some history about the two programs' relationship and differences in features; notably the original Xournal author suggests (if not outright recommends) users look into Xournal++ instead. I've taken a crack at adding a separate section on Xournal++ and elaborating on the two's relationship as described on the websites for the two programs. I know this is based on primary sources though, so not ideal. StereoFolic (talk) 16:33, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
