The cited source for the shutdown of the stations does NOT mention bankrupcty, in fact it says the Mr Kelly intends to continue to operate the corporation, which is not how bankrupcty works. When bankruptcy is filed, the judge selects a Debtor in Posession which provides funding necessary to operate the corporation while the reorganization is underway. The Debtor in Possession becomes the owner of the station license and is responsible for the operations of the station until it is sold to a new owner.

There are no filings at the FCC, either to transfer the license to the Debtor in Possession (which is how bankruptcy works), nor to keep the station silent.

In fact, this article in Radio Business Report clearly says that Kelly is NOT going into bankruptcy.[1]

There is, in fact, a filed and approved request for special temporary authority to remain silent that lists "financial" as the reason for the dark signal. This temporary authority was granted on April 2, 2009, and expired on September 29, 2009. No further action is listed in their FCC file as of yet but if they stayed off consistently through October 2, 2009, then the station's license is subject to automatic forfeiture. - Dravecky (talk) 07:55, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
