Climate / Sights: Natural ice sculptures[edit]

One could add a short note on a special natural phenomenon / sight that occurs almost each winter: On the Versoix shore of Lake Geneva, the wind is locally channelled in such an extreme way that in below 0°C weather, wind gusts transform the shore and everything on it (trees, boats, etc.) into a park of bizarre and beautyful natural ice sculptures. The phenomenon is well known to locals and foreigners alike, including to international press photographers who often come here in winter to snap spectacular pictures such as this one which are then widely circulated on a global scale.

Thanks for the suggestion. While doing a search, I found plenty of pictures, youtube videos and blog posts, but nothing from a reliable source. The few I found seemed to think that it was a freak storm in 2005. There was nothing about it happening yearly or what caused it. If you have pictures of the ice that you took or that are public domain, please think about uploading them to Wikimedia and if you have reliable sources please add them here or edit the article.
