Just looking at the raw numerical data, it looks like I removed a lot from the article, but I essentially just removed redundancies, quotes, and stuff that just shouldn't be in an encyclopedia article. I have put back the information on Tommy as a person. Too many times in this fantasy league world, people only care about Stats. If you know anything about the Minnesota Twins, this is a classic story of how the Twins develop their players through the minor leagues. I'm in contact with a lot of Twins fans and read their blog regularly. Fans love to read more info than just stats on the players. And by the way, I just looked up several other articles in wikipedia with biographies about movie stars and singers, and they have alot of personal info. So why is it inappropriate to not have personal info on athletes. And I also believe that alot of the info was referenced in major newspapers. cmh_Steeler_fan 06:09, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I've been a lifelong Twins fan, I live 5 minutes from the Metrodome. That's not the point. People's favorite movies and television shows simply aren't notable. It's wonderful that they enjoy them, but Wikipedia isn't the place for that sort of information. And just saying that you believe they were referenced isn't enough; you have to site things and show their significance to the subject. Yes, singers personal lives' have a lot more information, but unfortunately, that comes up more frequently. I wouldn't have a problem with a short paragraph about his family life, etc, but I just don't think his personal likes and dislikes are important. I don't think it should be for anyone unless it somehow has had a greater impact: An example would be Margaret Thatcher's love of the show Yes, Minister, which led to a public episode with the show's actors, etc. As long as I've got you here, is the career highlights thing at the end copied from the Rochester website? If it is, it's copy vio and has to be rewritten and greatly condensed down, since minor league careers aren't considered notable by Wikipedia standards (and will have to probably be condensed even if it isn't). If it's not, I'm truly sorry for the implication, the tone just sounded very much like a site like that. I appreciate all of your work on the article so far, and it's great to have a long article on a player so recently called up. matt91486 04:40, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
