Downgrading rating[edit]

While this article has a number of illustrations, & copious (although unneeded) quotations in the footnotes, I'm downgrading this article because it lacks known information about this person. First, he was not the first consul from the "Greek East" -- an important claim that is relegated to a footnote; that claim goes to Titus Junius Montanus (cos. suff. 81), from Alexandria in Troad (R. Syme, Some Arval Brethren, p. 90). Another item is the lack of a discussion of his cursus honorum -- the offices he held both in Imperial & Senatorial service. Further, I suspect that there has been much scholarly discussion of how he came to receive his praenomen & gentilicum: it appears either he or an ancestor was made a Roman citizen by one Ti. Julius -- whoever he was, & whenever he lived. Lastly, there is no discussion of his wife or any other known relatives beyond his son. What we have here is a prettyfied start article, which needs a lot more work. -- llywrch (talk) 06:28, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
