The wellies have been there since the ip edit on 24 Sept 2005, so without any new citation, the top hat looks like the more recent vandalism. Suggest rv to the more long-standing claim and tag as a fact. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:44, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On the official Sooty website from the early 2000s there was a short bio of each puppet. Sweep's claimed that he was born in Guiseley, but I have no citation or evidence of this.
