Deletion / Notability[edit]

steen's is NOT the only manufacturer left today.. article should be deleted & replaced with an article on pure cane syrup, if anything —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.74.13.109 (talk) 07:15, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. An article about cane syrup without being about a specific company would be better. If such an article is too small, it might be better as a section in one of the articles about sugar. By the way, I changed the name of this section. SlowJog (talk) 03:59, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the sources that talk about cane syrup focus on Steen's, and I think the notability of the product is reasonably clear. I've added some content and sources. Having said that, it might still be better to refocus the article on cane syrup in general, while still using the content about Steen's. In either event, this article is not appropriate for summary deletion under WP:Proposed deletion, which is intended for articles whose deletion is expected to be uncontroversial. I've removed the prod notice, but I am open to the possibility that the article might be renamed to cane syrup and reworded accordingly; in that event the current title Steen's cane syrup would become a redirect to cane syrup, but I think nearly all of the current content would still be usable. --Arxiloxos (talk) 18:46, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
