Spritz is an alcoholic cocktail. It has its origins in the Veneto region, Italy, where it is a popular and trendy drink among the college students population, especially in the towns of Padova (Padua) and Venezia (Venice). Spritz is usually consumed between 7:00PM and 8:00PM as an aperitive (a drink consumed to stimulate appetite and prepare the stomach for a pleasant dinner). It is made with Aperol or Campari or Cynar and mixed with Prosecco (Prosecco di Valdobbiadene) and Sparkling Mineral Water. It is usually served in a glass with ice and a slice of orange.
