Current fleet citations[edit]

If current fleet figures are continually updated based on Planespotters, the SWA citations are irrelevant and should be replaced with the actual source of the information. Carguychris (talk) 14:26, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Airbus A220 rumors[edit]

As I write this, unconfirmed sources claim that SWA is dropping the A220 acquisition proposal; however, per WP:NOTCRYSTAL and WP:NOTNEWS, the discussion of the proposal should not be removed until the airline's decision is formally confirmed on the record. I'm not convinced we should delete the discussion even if the reports are subsequently confirmed. The mere threat of dropping Boeing will remain noteworthy whatever Southwest ultimately decides. Rosbif73 (talk) 21:01, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps; my later draft of this comment at Talk:Southwest Airlines said modified or removed, which is a better way to put it. Carguychris (talk) 21:21, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MAX 8 order total as of 8 June 2021[edit]

Citing a Simple Flying article, a recent edit by VenFlyer98 indicated that 142 MAX 8 aircraft are on order. However, the table in the article indicates that the airline has scheduled 130 deliveries from 2026–2031, and states that "The airline has eight more firm orders for MAX 8 aircraft due to be delivered this year." That comes to 138. Did I miss something? Carguychris (talk) 15:35, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Carguychris: I think the way that article is worded is just a bit weird. There are other articles about the order that word it better, that’s just the first one I found. I believe what they mean are that the airline has 130 deliveries scheduled between 2026 and 2031, but MAX 7 deliveries are scheduled to start in 2022. I just think the article isn’t accounting for the first batch of planes from 2022-2025. VenFlyer98 (talk) 06:28, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
