Add David Legg and Derek M Jones as creators?[edit]

Would it be good protocol to say that the Snostorm language was created by David Legg and Derek M Jones? --Dwlegg (talk) 12:48, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be fine. Riordanmr (talk) 16:05, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SNOSTORM under MTS at the University of Michigan[edit]

I worked as a programmer and later Associate Director at the University of Michigan's Computing Center (UMCC) from 1974 to 1986. SNOSTORM was available for use under the Michigan Terminal System (MTS) at UM and at other MTS sites. I thought that SNOSTORM was developed by Fred Swartz, a long time member of the UMCC's programming staff. Page 405 of the April 1982 version of "MTS Volume 2: Public File Descriptions" says: "The SNOSTORM preprocessor was developed at the Computing Center to facilitate structured programming in SPITBOL, a dialect of SNOBOL4." There may be more information in "MTS Volume 9: SNOBOL4 in MTS", but I no longer have a copy of that. Does anyone know if SNOSTORM came to MTS from UCL or to UCL from MTS or if there were two independent implementations of SNOSTORM? Jeff Ogden (talk) 14:42, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Google Books has a copy of MTS Volume 9 which I have added to the external links. -- Derek Ross | Talk 18:49, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
