Patrick[edit]

Hi. An LTA sockmaster has been warring on this article for some time. Creating new socks to avoid PP controls. And IP hopping to avoid 3RR norms. I am adding this note - not for his attention - but out of consideration to any other editors who query the edit history or edit patterns. In short, the LTA block-evading user seeks to change the accepted status quo (which presents the association of St Patrick with Slemish as tradition) to a contra-convention position (which presents the association as one of absolute fact). The latter is not consistent with the references in the article. Including those which confirm that, since the 19th century, there have been queries as to the compatibility of the Slemish traditions with other traditions associated with Patrick. Including with the text of Patrick's Confessio. (The questions around the association are discussed extensively by Bury in his 'The Life of St. Patrick and His Place in History' (1905), by White in his 'Saint Patrick: His Writings and Life' (1920), and more recently by Duffy in 'Patrick in His Own Words' (2000).)
