Untitled[edit]

I checked for plagiarism in the article and found some from the source "cholera". I rewrote the section and aded citations to the article. I then added 3 new sources for content on how this strain of cholera affected Latin America. I added a reflist. I reworded some portions that had awkward phrasing. Reference 2 is a college student's essay...[edit]

...which, in its turn, references the non-existent webpage (ref.5 in the essay) which just 'might', judging by its title, link (back) to Wikipedia's article on cholera. However, the whole issue of suppressing information on cholera outbreak in USSR in 1960s-1970s hangs on this reference. Editors might want to clear that (I won't, sorry). The article should be renamed, as the title is either incorrect or does not respect NPOV[edit]

This academic article "origins of the current seventh cholera pandemic" (doi/10.1073/pnas.1608732113) says the pandemic was still ongoing in 2016, so the current title is either incorrect, or does not respect NPOV if the pandemic end date is a matter of debate. I think it should be renamed into "seventh cholera pandemic" or something like that, but I can't do it myself. By the way, this cholera pandemic is mentioned in the article pandemic as an example of an ongoing pandemic. So either the pandemic article is incorrect, or this one is incorrect, but both can't be correct at the same time. 1961–1975 cholera pandemic → Seventh cholera pandemic – It's controversial if this pandemic actually ended or not. For example the WHO's position on the subject is that the pandemic is still ongoing. Other wikipedia articles (pandemic, history of cholera) mention it as an ongoing pandemic. The current title reflects only one point of view of the subject, and should be renamed accordindly, without taking sides. POV problem[edit]

I stumbled upon the following sentence, which does not respect Wikipedia:Neutral point of view: "The ongoing seventh pandemic has affirmed that cholera is still prevalent in society and can cause high mortality.". It is disputed if it's still an ongoing pandemic or not, as mentioned in a previous discussion. There are probably other sections or paragraphs like that in the article, so it might need some global rewriting.
