Cleanup[edit]

I tagged this for cleanup for reasons I think are obvious. The first sentance is the only one that belongs on this site. The information needs to be relevant and presented in a more encyclopedic manner. What is the Bur Dubai side of the city? What is the Bloushi tribe? The punctuation and grammar are also in need of attention. I couldn't find much on Satwa myself so I am putting this up for cleanup in hopes that someone more qualified will fix it. Merger proposal[edit]

There are two seperate articles for the same place. Satwa, Dubai and Al Satwa are the two articles that both refer to the same area of Dubai. I believe "Al Satwa" should be put into "Satwa, Dubai" for two reasons. First of all, the "Al Satwa" article is short and "Satwa, Dubai" has more information (even if it is not very good). Second, people refer to the area more as "Satwa" than they do as "Al Satwa." --Leitmanp 08:31, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

True, but the official name of the area is "Al Satwa" (per official maps on gis.gov.ae). In keeping with naming conventions for other Dubai localities, I feel the article should reference "Al Satwa" as well. Content from "Satwa, Dubai" could be transferred to make the "Al Satwa" article more complete, but as far as naming conventions are concerned, I vote for "Al Satwa". Once content has been transferred, redirects from "Satwa, Dubai" and "Satwa" can be created to appropriately route searches to this article. AreJay (talk) 22:45, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I will agree to a merge into "Al Satwa." But, is it possible we can put something in the lead that says "Al Satwa, or simply Satwa, is an area of Dubai....."? When I read information about Dubai, "Al" is usually left out of "Al Satwa." "Satwa" seems to be the more common name, so it should be mentioned.
