Thoughts[edit]

@Rosguill: Hi there. I have been working on this article for a little while and the suspicion that this is WP:PAID is growing. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 22:01, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Willbb234, I think it's likely that the initial editor of this article has some sort of COI with the subject, which may or may not be undeclared paid editing. As for the article itself, I think that the subject is borderline for meeting WP:NACADEMIC, and would not let it through without a notability template. A more pressing issue is that it also appears to have copyright violations [1], including some rather telling copying-over of content that included grammatical errors. signed, Rosguill talk 01:52, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosguill: @Willbb234: Hello both, let me try and clarify things: this is not paid work. I am a colleague of Samer Hassan. I am a researcher on blockchain technology and Samer is a colleague working on this theme. He is one of the pioneer on this topic of research, focusing on the intersection between blockchain, governance, and commons-based peer production. He has published several papers on the matter and he recently got an ERC grant, the largest grant that the EU awards. I thought he deserve a Wikipedia page, so I wrote it. I copied some of his bio's content from his Harvard's webpage, so perhaps I should rephrase things a bit. Sorry about that ! signed, Yaoeo

Thoughts[edit]

@Rosguill: hi there. Hope you are well. I am coming back to this article to do some NPOV fixing and sort out the mess of promotional content here. After doing a little reading, I was convinced it might be better to speedy delete this article. What are your thoughts? The two other major editors of this have been notified (see User talk:Janeender and User talk:Senrof21), the former of which was vague in their response, whilst the latter clearly stated they had a strong COI. Thanks, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 20:32, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Willbb234, I'm not sure I see a CSD protocol that would apply as it appears that the copyvio has been taken care of. At this point, I think that AfD would be the only deletion protocol which could apply, and as I haven't reviewed the sources here recently, I can't say for certain which way I would vote. signed, Rosguill talk 21:48, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
