"Petřín lookout tower" would be acceptable and I have seen this used - the fully capitalised version is incorrect however, as it has not been adopted into English as a compound proper noun. Knepflerle (talk) 15:37, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's called Petrin lookout tower in English, maybe the Petrin Hill lookout tower could be sold. Why the diacritics? If you keep them, then I vote to keep the entire Czech name, rather than part of it and part English. Here's a link to the English alphabet.   • The diacritics are not a problem. If the article is renamed Petřín lookout tower (with diacritics), then Wikipedia will customarily have a redirect from Petrin lookout tower (without diacritics).     • They are incredibly annoying. On most browsers that I have used, if you enter a word and search a long article, and it is written with the diacritics the browser search will not return results. In other words, it's one of those snobby things that Wikipedia does that interferes with usability for the average user. And it serves no purpose. Actually, I tend to agree that the diacritics can be annoying, chiefly because those of us who have English keyboards (which would be most users of the English Wikipedia) have no means of entering those characters on the keyboard. Nevertheless, Wikipedia practice seems to be using the diacritics. That's why I think we need to go with established practice. They're actually easier than they look, and the rules are much easier to learn than English rules of pronunciation, but, of course, Wikipedia's pronunciation guidelines are impossible to use. Petřínská rozhledna, probably Pet reen ska rozh (like z in azure) led nuh, Ruda Śląska = Rude uh shlanska, Łódź = woodj, like woodja like to come to the show with me? and Þórðarson, probably something along the lines of heck if I know. --KP Botany (talk) 01:09, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Expand chapter History[edit]

On http://www.pis.cz/cz/praha/pamatky/petrinska_rozhledna/ one can found an article of the history of Petrinska rozhledna, unfortunately in Czech language. Structural integrity?[edit]

I visited the Petřín Lookout Tower in 2011, and was a bit taken aback to find that visitors up top could feel the tower apparently wobbling.
