Senapati (meaning General) is an WP:HONORIFIC. The page title should be the name Pandurang Mahadev Bapat. -- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kautilya3 (talk • contribs)
Ah, well spotted. It does indeed need to be renamed. - Sitush (talk) 10:49, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I had no idea. But how does this compare to, for instance, Mahatma Gandhi? DS (talk) 12:05, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I really wouldn't go down that road. The Gandhi article might as well be a one-off - check the history for the many discussions about naming, many of which brought Hindu nationalists out of the cupboards etc. This one could just be moved, leaving a redirect for its current title. - Sitush (talk) 12:12, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think this one falls in the same category as Veer Savarkar, which we don't use as a page title. I agree that Mahatma Gandhi is quite a special case.
Senapati Bapat gives quite a few hits on Google Books, but a large majority of them are for the roads name after him. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:45, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
