Untitled[edit]

Sorry, mispelling Billy Biggs name was a mistake. I typo'd it in late one night. Chaoticbob 23:20, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

This article seems a little disorganized, and some parts of it almost seem like an advertisement for OpenEXR... I'm tagging for cleanup. qwe 07:51, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did a lot of work tonight, please let me know what you all think. qwe 04:54, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

The source about Cg programming language support of EXR: http://www.linux.com/article.pl?sid=05/12/06/2115258 I'm not sure of its accuracy, so I'd rather put this here for discussion. hub 02:56, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And also OpenEXR website states it: http://www.openexr.com/ hub 04:53, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

move applications into a proper list[edit]

The list paragraph is overlong, incomplete and doesn't really belong in the article header. It also seems to have suffered from 'me too!' syndrome as people have added their favorite apps/os to the end. That 'hurrumph' aside, I think the paragraph is a prime candidate for moving into a nice list further down the article, see WP:SAL for advice on how to list items in WP. I don't know enough about the subject to really do it effectively. EasyTarget (talk) 13:56, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Samples" page linked to doesn't actually have any openexr files[edit]

It leads to a page that displays jpeg images of what openexr images theoretically look like, but no actual downloadable samples. This seems misleading and not particularly useful. We wouldn't link to a page of jpegs as a sample page for .png... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.54.24.71 (talk) 04:35, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Time to update?[edit]

"It is notable for supporting 16-bit-per-channel floating point values blah blah.."

Why only mention 16 bit and not the 32 bit float and 32 bit int?

Also EXR2.0 has been released with new features. Seems like this needs some re-writes to add the new stuff and clean up the old crappy stuff. (I mean more than a small sentence mentioning 2.0.)

I agree, this article could use a reboot. Go for it! ;) Fnordware (talk) 19:05, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also, some of the reference from http://www.openexr.com/ does not work anymore (reference 9 and 10)

Also, as of OpenEXR 3.0.0 (which should get some mention in the history section), the library structure has seen some change, with IlmImf renamed to OpenEXR, and something having happened to IlmBase (renamed to Imath or some such, still need to research the details myself). 2A0A:A546:27B1:0:F898:B8A1:A3F7:9D95 (talk) 20:33, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
