Article name[edit]

Magna Frisia, you moved the article from Metslawier to Mitselwier on 1 January 2023, please can you explain whether the move was in line with Wikipedia policy. Generally Wikipedia:Article titles use the WP:COMMONNAME in independent, reliable English-language sources, rather than the official name. TSventon (talk) 11:05, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There was a name change, since there's no specific English version of Mitselwier English language sources tend to use the official name. Even Dutch sources are starting to use Mitselwier, instead of the old Dutch name. This has to do with the fact that the Dutch government doesn't a recognize inofficial names and therefore Metslawier technically doesn't exist anymore. At this moment, older sources that haven't been updated might still use the old name, but all new sources will use Mitselwier. Magna Frisia (talk) 11:32, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Magna Frisia, thank you. Having read the 22 articles you moved, I see that they are small villages, so going with the official name probably makes sense. TSventon (talk) 20:41, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
