Proposed Merge[edit]

I propose that Lopar, Grolm, Corlm, Raken and To'raken be merged into a single Seanchan Exotics page, and that information about the Torm (which currently just redirects to the Seanchan page) be added to it. Each individial creature (especially the Corlm) doesn't really pass WP:Notability guidelines, but together, I think there is enough information to justify keeping the article. Thoughts? I am completely against this, as these creatures (Grolm) exist on their own in the world of dreams. If you recall, in a world parallel universe) where a previous battle was lost(which had originally been won in the 'main' universe), they roam freely. Rand encounters them. They are not controlled by the Seanchan in different realms. I don't mind having a section for this, but I disagree for merging them all into one thing. If someone looks up the world "Grolm", I want them to see what they are, and not have to read about other creatures as if they are only controlled by a group of people. That's not true. I had one in my dream this afternoon, and there was no Seanchan around :). --unsigned

Perhaps the title of the merged article should be something more like "Flora and Fauna in the Wheel of Time Series," if not a section "Flora and Fauna" within the existing Concepts in the Wheel of Time series. We could include creatures obtained by the Seanchan from the portal-stone worlds, other Seanchan creatures like s'redit (not from the portal-stone worlds as far as I know), Aiel Waste species like the sorda (rat) and segade (cactus), Age of Legends animals like the moghedien (spider), and fictional Westlands species like leatherleaf and bitemes. --DavidK93 (talk) 21:22, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the things you mentioned are just Randland names for mundane creatures that exist in out world (s'redit = elephant). There isn't enough detail in the series about them to fill sections of a new page, nor is there any reason to. The Seanchan exotics (grolm, torm, raken, etc.) are the only ones described in any detail, and their main role in the series is as Seanchan beasts. Hell, that's even how they're referred to in the Guide. We only actually see one of the species (Grolm) in one of the mirror worlds, and only in a relatively short section of a single book. Their association with the Seanchan is much stronger, and is more appropriate for an article title on Wikipedia.
