Possible Error

In the list under "T" I see this entry for Testament. Testament (role-playing game) by Late Gaming - game set during the End Times I use to own this game, and still may. I will have to check through all my games. This game was not set during the "End Times", but its setting was in the Old Testament If I can find my copy and I am correct, I will change the entry, but if someone else can validate it that would be great. --Wer2chosen 14:52, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

You're confusing two different things. Testament by Late Gaming is a complete (albeit small) roleplaying game, which, indeed, takes place in the End Times. You can take a look here [1]. The Testament you're thinking about is a d20 campaign setting by Green Ronin, part of their Mystic Vistas product line ([2]). Like you remembered, it takes place in the time of the Old Testament. Since this list contains role playing games, not campaign settings (e.g., Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance, probably the most popular d20 campaign settings aren't listed here), the entry seems valid to me. General notation standard

I think this list would benefit from some general standard for notation such as Name of Game by publisher - short blurb

I agree, so get cracking!  ;) (No, really, this is a good idea.) --Craw-daddy | T | 22:16, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Any Objections

I am going to remove the entry for RuneScape. It is a online computer roleplayign game. I just wanted to give anyone who regularly edits this page to have a chance to object. --Wer2chosen (talk) 14:23, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

  • I don't regularly edit this page but RuneScape as you say IS an on-line computer ROLEPLAYING GAME you've said it's a roleplaying game in a list of roleplaying games, what's wrong with that?

Kcollis (talk) 16:04, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Look closer at the description of the list. It says that it *does not* include computer role-playing games, MMORPGs, etc, etc. There is a separate list for MMORPGs, but I don't know of any separate list for computer RPGs that aren't MMORPGs. Maybe there should be. --Craw-daddy | T | 17:57, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Im sorry, but if you dont include the computer ones which ones can you include? Unless you're talking ps2, ps3, xbox, xbox 360 or nintendo games? Kcollis (talk) 14:23, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

This list is for paper-based RPGs, i.e. those that you buy rules for (usually in book format, although there are some PDFs), and get together and play with your friends face-to-face. Think of Dungeons & Dragons as the canonical example, but there are hundreds more these days. They aren't computer RPGs (although maybe one or two can use a computer for doing some task or another). --Craw-daddy | T | 16:54, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Table

I've tablified # & A. I'll do the rest if there are no objections, but I'm not going to do the lot until people agree to it. Duggy 1138 (talk) 05:04, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Overambitious?

Deletion request

This is too hard to do. It is impossible to chronicle every RPG ever made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Onyx321 (talkcontribs) 09:50, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

In any list, there will always be a few items that are missed. If the list is limited to role-playing games that are strictly table-top, and games that were actually published and sold, this project could be completed for all practical purposes (a list of 99%+ of published RPGs). "This is too hard" is rarely a good reason to say other people shouldn't do something. Worldwalker (talk) 20:14, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
You're responding to a request made six years ago (pretty sure there's a statue of limitation on deletion requests, a week or so?). P.S. I agree with the sentiment, also 'too hard' and 'impossible' are completely different thingssheridan (talk) 21:31, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
