Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Leela (software) be merged into Leela Zero. They are almost the same subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tykyheg (talkcontribs) 10:18, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Note that Leela and Leela Zero are very different programs. "The names are similar only due to having the same lead author, but they play quite differently." The two articles as of now do have a lot of overlap though, which is not good. The text about Leela Zero in the Leela article should be condensed down to just a sentence or two commenting on how the two programs relate. Ahiijny (talk) 00:12, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I made this change to Leela (software), condensing the LZ and LCZero text into a "See Also" section. Ahiijny (talk) 00:47, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not merge. Leela Zero and Leela (software) are different software and have different histories and different algorithms. They should be kept separated. --Neo-Jay (talk) 06:21, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Which ruleset?[edit]

Leela Zero only knows the basic rules and nothing more.

Which basic rules? Most consider the Chinese or Tromp-Taylor rules to be easiest to program, but it would be good to have it spelled out. Or if it was found that choice of rules doesn't matter for training, that would also be good to know. --IanOsgood (talk) 17:15, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
