Death of Homer[edit]

Now, and for the last time. Somebody keeps modifying the section about Homer's fate when United 93 was hijacked. This or these people, in the effort to make 'official' the cinematographic image of Homer opening the door and being stabbed by the hijackers and that Captain Dahl being the one who shouted "mayday", keep repeating like parrots, sources that don't even talk about such a thing, while they kept cancelling all the more reliable sources from other observations- including the testimony of Homer's wife Melodie, not one of the thousands of far-fetched accounts given by sources like "9-11 America Under Attack" - that Homer was the person who shouted "mayday" on the cockpit voice recorder, and possibly was even alive after the hijacking (notice: I say possibly, and indeed I wrote in the article that Homer's actions are just what his wife believes, while these people use no actual sources and fictional books as facts). They deem all these accounts, including a testimony of Homer's wife, as "untrue", while the only certainly apocryphal accounts are those of Homer just being killed or that he and Dahl was removed from the cockpit and left in the back of the plane. And if we want to remain in theme of apocryphal accounts, let's talk about the sources (like "9-11 America Under Attack"), to which they desperately cling: it is a book that is completely inaccurate and fictional, that it is worse than any of the conspiracy theories that came in the wake of the tragedy. If you were to click on that source - you would agree it is not needed. Moreover, the other sources (the telegraph and ABC accounts) never mention a word that Homer was stabbed and killed during the hijacking: One more unjustified modify to that section and I will notify them for vandalism. Sounds like you're the one with wishful thinking? It'd be almost laughable to see a report for vandalism with sources still classified as REPUTABLE being reinserted as vandalism. Who is using United 93 or suchlike as foundation for referenced (quality) edits on here? Or are you loosely hearkening to films as a justification for your desperate reverts? I literally winced at the irony of your words "One more unjustified modify to that section and I will notify them for vandalism." It is ironic looking, back far enough through the history of this article how sentiments dictate over facts as we know them? Why does the term "wishful thinking over reputable polices" spring to mind? I suggest you review policies before you laughably make feeble threats. Family members' testimony as to OPINIONS are not exactly reliable, wouldn't you agree? What you see online states she thought she believed Dahl was the one at the controls! I think the testimony of passengers on that plane (& by extension on the other three planes too as a descriptive general pattern of attack) stating the hijackers were armed with knives and had stabbed passengers and the pilots to gain access to the cockpit means that is virtually certain what happened to the pilots on this plane too. The sources - unlike your sentiments - are reputable. Where were you when this article stated Dahl had been stabbed and Homer was the one courageously screaming mayday. There are words in previous versions stating: For his actions on board Flight 93, Homer received many awards and citations posthumously, including honorary membership in the historic Tuskegee Airmen; the Congress of Racial Equality's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award; the Southern Christian Leadership Conference Drum Major for Justice Award; and the Westchester County Trailblazer Award. You could be described as being the bulldozing vandal here. Why not find sources (outside your personal bias and emotion) to disprove these referenced additions? Report us all if you wish, then explain how among other things, you are not violating WP:OWN on this page with your reverts too, other than blunt retrospective talk page messages. Unless another editor challenges you in the meantime, should you have 7 days to blend these sources out and provide clear referenced justifications for your reverts before I revert your edits?

The opinion of the deceased pilots wife is just an opinion. This is a featured level article that has undergone a peer review as well as a featured article review. Regardless of the truth, it is worth remembering the comment made at 9:45:25 on the https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Flight_93_Cockpit_Transcript, in which Jarrah said to another hijacker, “Inform them, and tell him to talk to the pilot; bring the pilot back”. Exemplar United States Air Force Academy Class of 2024[edit]

This honor has been granted since the Class of 2000, each class has chosen someone who "exemplifies" the type of person the class wishes to emulate. @Markwusinich: Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.

Unfortunately, a YouTube video by a mostly anonymous user with 22 subscribers would not be considered reliable, per WP:USERG, and the second source you cited makes no mention of Homer, as the Exemplar for 2021 is indicated to be Brigadier General James Robinson "Robbie" Risner, and the Exemplar for 2024 is not listed, as the list ends with 2023.

If you find published, secondary sources that adhere to Wikipedia's policies on source reliability, let us know, and I'll help you add that info to the article. Not done: per Wikipedia:Red link, we'd only add the red link if it were likely that an article on him would be created soon. Considering his article was deleted and redirected to United Airlines Flight 93 in 2006, doubt an article is forthcoming Cannolis (talk) 06:03, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
