I do not think Kurakas are specifically inca, but more an andean concept preceeding it. In the wikipedia article "Aymara Kingdoms" this is described historically: the incas used Kuraka rivalries in their conquest of these "kingdoms"(kingdoms without kings! I guess europeans didn't have a word for their dual leadership system!). I think the first line should be adapted to say "andean" or pre-incaic, but adopted by the inca. No offence and much respect to quechua speakers but I keep having to do this as many have as our cultures were explained to the conqueror by another conqueror and a lot of things from varied origin passed off constantly as inca.
