Quotes[edit]

Are these direct quotes in the original language (English) or have you translated them from Malaysian? The grammar is pretty bad in places. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:11, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They're direct translation from Malay to English. Give me some time (I'll do it today) and I'll do my best to reword them to a much proper English grammar. Thanks! SyFuelIgniteBurned 08:14, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • It would be better if you provided the original Malaysian quotes in a footnote. Compare Amir Hamzah, for instance. I can help with the translations as Malaysian and Indonesian (a language I'm quite fluent in) are very similar. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 08:27, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've rephrased some of the quotes. I'll try to add the footnotes later tonight, I just got back from my class, so I kinda need a break to clear up my mind. Lol! But honestly, I'm really grateful that you are willing to help me to improve both article and my editing skill (and my grammar). ==" SyFuelIgniteBurned 09:02, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've added the original quotes as I've promised. By the way, the first two quotes are from herself. She has this habit of referring to herself by her own name, instead of the usual first person pronoun. :) SyFuelIgniteBurned 15:01, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Like my classmate then. Okay, I'll take a look. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:05, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe because it sounds more polite for Malay/Indonesian girls I guess, instead of "Aku" that sounds like a harsher version of "Saya" in contemporary Malay despite serving the same purpose. Anyway, thanks! SyFuelIgniteBurned 15:22, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's just the one, and she is pretty much Melayu tulen (though from Medan, not Melacca). At least it's easier to understand than hamba, dagang, etc.  — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:36, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Even I sometimes used my own name as a first person pronoun when I'm speaking to one of my female friends who is very timid around guys. Lol! Anyway, I'm still waiting for replies from the two photographers that I have asked for some images from. Both of them have said yes, but the problem is, those images are under full copyright terms. I did ask them if it were possible for them to change the licence to a more suitable one. So far, one of them has stopped replying to me (I don't know why) and I'm still waiting for the other guy to change his licence if he wants to. Here are the two images that I really want to add to the article, 1 (where she was singing Medley Orang Merajuk and in the background you can see the lantern) and 2 (where she was playing Bonang before performing "Biarlah Rahsia".) • Those are very nice pictures. Best of luck getting them... the free culture here is quite underdeveloped. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 21:20, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • True. I'm still waiting for his reply. It appears he rarely logs in to his Flickr account. I have a couple of pictures from the concert myself, but quite low in quality and I was only able to take some pictures moments before the concert started and there's no pictures of her at all.
