Charity work[edit]
Although Johnny Depp's goal with his charitable work does not seem to be to gain attention and praise, since he does not usually talk about the donations he makes, it is only fair to include a section on his Wikipedia page that addresses his donations and supported causes. Especially since several artists have a session like this, including his ex-wife Amber Heard.
There is a long article on the Look To The Stars website that talks about some of Depp's contributions, although this site cannot be used as a direct source on Wikipedia, the article is excellent and could give you a basis for what to write in the session. I have researched each donation and added reliable sources that confirm them. https://www.looktothestars.org/celebrity/johnny-depp
Depp made a voice message for a 17-year-old British girl who had been in a coma for five months; parents of the girl asked him to tape a voice message because he was the favorite actor of their daughter and they hoped playing the message everyday would help wake her up. As an advocate for Sophie's Gift, a growing database of celebrity messages aimed at helping coma patients and raising funds for crucial hospital equipment, Depp was touched by the letter and said he would do whatever he could to help. https://www.pajiba.com/celebrities_are_better_than_you/johnny-depp-helped-wake-a-girl-from-a-9month-coma-with-the-sound-of-his-voice.php
In response to a scare within Depp’s own family, in March 2007, he donated $2 million to the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, which treats children who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions, as thanks for the treatment his daughter Lily-Rose received at the facility after contracting an E. Coli infection that caused kidney failure. https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/celebrity/depp-gives-2m-for-saving-daughters-life-20080116-gdrx27.html
In 2006 he received the Courage to Care award in recognition of his contributions to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which provides seriously ill children with medical care from some of the country’s best doctors regardless of their families’ ability to pay. https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/j-lo-and-depp-at-gala-for-kids/
Depp sent a shirt which he wore in The Libertine to a British fan after she wrote asking him to donate something in aid of charity. https://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/a27036/depps-shirt-raises-1800-for-charity/
I invite you to add any other information about charities and causes that you feel should be mentioned. These were just some of them. Johnny Depp has a long history of contributions. That's one of the reasons he should have a charity session on his page. Eenchantedd (talk) 01:49, 24 March 2024 (UTC)

Dr Barratt made this claim on the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? series saying: “When I examined Johnny’s history I discovered a likely connection to the royal family. I’ve since established the family tree that demonstrates how. You have to go back more than 500 years to reach the point where his ancestors become royal.” The genealogist traced Depp’s family name even further back to French Huguenot Deppes, living in 14th century England. Digging further, Dr Barratt found that on a branch of Depp’s family tree he was descended from Sir William Gascoigne and his wife Margaret Percy, who lived in 15th century Yorkshire.
Now Margaret was the daughter of the 3rd Earl of Northumberland, who was a direct descendant of King Edward III.
The late Queen Elizabeth II is the great (x17) granddaughter of the medieval monarch. And the Hollywood star’s royal link depends on an unrecorded marriage in the 1600s between Yorkshireman Richard Denton and Helen Windebank. This is the only unconfirmed branch of Depp’s family tree, linking him to Sir William Gascoigne. 2001:56A:F837:5700:F9BD:4C81:F456:C91C (talk) 16:20, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
