Australian citizen?[edit]

He became a naturalized Australian citizen in November 1904.

Not possible. Australian citizenship did not exist until 26 January 1949. The best people could do before then was become British subjects. I presume this is what we're trying to say there. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 20:10, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
With respect, Jack of Oz, I have a copy of John's Australian Natualization Certificate, which includes at the top that it is in conformance with the "Naturalization Act of 1903". 74.100.89.18 (talk) 23:11, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@ 74.100.89.18: Belatedy, I think you'll probably find that this was his naturalisation as a British subject. As I stated above, Australian citizenship simply did not exist until 1949. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 08:32, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
