Edits[edit]

I have added a photo of Jean. siennalizard (talk) 15:51, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Given the image is non-free, it must comply with WP:NFCC in all respects. Since she is alive, it appears the image violates WP:NFCC #1. We do not generally accept non-free images of living people for depiction purposes, unless the image itself is the subject of sourced commentary (which is not the case here). --Hammersoft (talk) 15:53, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have re-added the image in the light of her death last year. siennalizard (talk) 19:07, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • My re-add above was removed. I'm not sure her wartime photograph will ever end up on Wikipedia, although it is visibly everywhere else (See Google: [[1]]). It's very likely the photographer was older than she was. In the meanwhile I will find one of my own photos of her. I have added an Infobox. My new image may well go in there. Is this still a stub biography? siennalizard (talk) 22:39, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

On May 22nd 2019 Prof Sue Black reported on Twitter the death of Jean Valentine, saying "Im extremely sad to announce that wonderful @bletchleypark veteran Jean Valentine has died. Jean was an absolutely wonderful character, Bletchley Park Bombe operator during WW2 and friend". I've not yet seen an obituary to provide more information. --Csamuel (talk) 16:18, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
