Untitled[edit]

I'll be changing all provincial Chronology lists in to prose in History sections as it suits the media better. Chiklets99 (talk) 10:00, 27 July, 2008 (UTC)

Tense[edit]

The tense, is all wrong. E.g. "SAIT is created in 1962" needs to be changed to "SAIT was created in 1962". This problem occurs throughout the article. If I have time I will get to it later, otherwise please change it as you find it. --Kevlar (talk • contribs) 01:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other Issues[edit]

Order Agreement Error[edit]

"In September, 2009, Calgary's Mount Royal University and Edmonton's Grant MacEwan University became the province's third and fourth university campuses, respectively. Formerly considered colleges, both institutions offer many of the degrees and facilities previously only available at the two larger universities."

The dates listed on the other pages (including MacEwan's for that matter) state that Royal and MacEwan were the fifth and sixth universities chartered by act in the province. Is there some sort of definition of "university campus" that would make them the third and fourth, or should this be changed to reflect correct order values? -199.185.120.1 (talk) 20:31, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They're the third and fourth public universities. I had the same question in October without answer. 117Avenue (talk) 22:48, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They should be the fifth and sixth. U of A was first around 1908, U of C and U of L in the 60s, Athabasca in the 70s. Even if Athabasca is not included because it's an open university and doesn't fall under this defination of "university campuses" there were still already 3 universities before Mount Royal and MacEwan were added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.206.174.52 (talk) 05:21, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Minor Overhaul[edit]

FYI: In November 2011, for a class "Higher Education Systems of Canada" at UBC this page, along with the other provincial Higher Education pages are receiving at least minor overhauls. Lists of Institutions[edit]

Lists of institutions are very useful but there are now two central articles for them: List of universities in Canada and List of colleges in Canada. Having such information collected in a central place is much more useful. I have updated the See Also links at the top of the article to point to these central lists. I am deleting the section on Publicly Funded Post-secondary Institutions because it is better to note this information in those other articles. 2013 Cuts[edit]

This article is out of date and says nothing of the massive deficit most post-secondary institutions are currently trying to overcome due to Government cutbacks.
