The reference given here as "Asher et al 2007" is actually Sanchez-Villagra et al. 2007. Additionally, breaking the references into footnotes and literature cited isn't really necessary when dealing with scientific articles (especially those less than 10 pages long), and it makes editing references a bit more tricky, but I'll leave that up to the primary editor(s) of this article.
